Display Design Competition
Our
organization is in need of a title design for our new display.
To that end we are soliciting your help.
We need those of you with artistic design talents to dream up an
eye-catching title pane to help get our environmental message across.
The grand prize will be the satisfaction of a job well done, the
admiration of your peers, and perhaps a libation or two at the hospitality room.
The Details…
The intent of the title pane will be to
convey professionalism in the water environment discipline.
The IWPCA is recognized as the leading authority in this domain with an
emphasis on scientific integrity and expertise.
Our status as a volunteer organization should be underscored as well as
the vast experience and diverse education of our members.
The objective of our mission statement should figure prominently in the
message of the title pane, especially our educational goals.
Some members have requested a
de-emphasis on the word “Pollution” in our name.
Suggestions have been made that only our initials should be used in large
font so as to focus our audiences’ attention on our message and not on the
negative undertones of this word.
Most marketing professionals
tell exhibitors to concentrate on a few important phrases accompanied by
eye-catching photos and graphics. Research
has shown that people will not stop to read long narratives or explanations on a
display.
The
options are a banner across the top of the new display measuring approximately
117.5”W x 12”H or a graphic panel measuring approximately 29.5”W x 58”H.
These measurements may be used to determine the proportions of the title
pane to aid in the layout of the design.

Our inventory of photos has become dated and
worn. We need a variety of treatment
plant, collection system, laboratory and miscellaneous pictures in order to
customize our display for each of the events we attend.
Our layout is different depending on if we are trying to recruit members,
educate children, or share our environmental message.
